TJ vs TradeZella: an honest comparison

TradeZella is an established journal with automatic sync to hundreds of brokers and prop firms, tick-level trade replay and a large report library. TJ is a newer journal, built around one habit: grading each setup against your own rules before you click. Here is how they differ, and who each one suits.

Free plan · No card needed · TJ is journaling software, not financial advice.

The short answer

Choose TradeZella if you want trades to arrive on their own from your broker or prop firm, want to re-watch your trades with 1-second precision, and are happy to pay from $35 a month or $315 a year.

Choose TJ if your biggest leak happens before the entry: forced setups, oversized trades, the revenge trade after a loss. TJ scores the setup first, sizes it down or tells you to skip it, then keeps the review fast. It has a free plan.

Where TradeZella is stronger

  • Hands-off sync. With 500+ broker and prop firm integrations, most traders never touch a CSV file. TJ syncs MetaTrader 4/5 (Silvy), Binance and Bybit; everything else comes in by CSV.
  • Replaying real trades. Re-watching a synced trade tick by tick is a strong review habit. TJ's replay is built for backtesting sessions, not for replaying a trade you already took.
  • Breadth. More reports, plus AI backtests and agents on the higher plans.
  • Maturity. TradeZella is a finished paid product. TJ is newer, which means fast changes and the occasional rough edge.

Where TJ is different

The grade comes before the click

In Rate It! you pick the strategy you wrote and tick its checks. TJ returns a score out of 100 and a grade from A+ to D. A veto, such as “Asian session” or “no liquidity sweep”, means no trade even when everything else lines up. Weaker grades get a smaller size. The grade is saved with the trade, so Review can later show your R by grade and tell you whether your A+ setups really beat your B setups.

Prop rules filled in for you

Pick Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures (Rapid and Rapid EOD), Tradeify Select, FTMO, FundedNext Stellar and The5ers High Stakes, then your account size. TJ fills in the daily loss limit, drawdown, target, size and consistency rules, and counts them on every trade. Edit any value, or type the rules for any other firm.

A lower planned price

TJ Silvy is planned at $19 a month or $159 a year, against $35 a month or $315 a year for TradeZella Essential. Join by 5 December 2026 and your first year of Silvy would be $111.30. The journal itself is free.

Small things that add up

TJ installs on your phone from the browser, runs in English, Spanish and Turkish, includes an economic calendar with news alerts, and stores your data in the EU (Frankfurt).

TradeZella fits

  • Traders with many broker or prop accounts who want syncing with no effort.
  • Traders who review by replaying each trade.
  • Anyone who wants AI-run backtests of a strategy.

TJ fits

  • Discretionary traders with a written checklist (SMC, ICT, breakout and retest) who want it enforced before entry.
  • Prop challenge traders who want limit warnings without building a spreadsheet.
  • Traders who want to start free and decide later.

Trying TJ next to TradeZella

You don't have to cancel anything to test TJ. Export your trade history from your platform as a CSV (MT4/MT5, Tradovate or NinjaTrader-style). TJ detects the format, matches the columns and lets you fix any column before importing. Then write your strategy checklist once. From the next trade on, every entry carries a grade, and after 20 or more trades the reports start to say something about your own rules.
