TJ vs Tradervue: which journal fits how you trade?
Tradervue is a well-known trade analyzer with broker sync, MFE/MAE statistics and more than 100 advanced reports, and it covers stocks, options, futures and forex. TJ is a newer journal focused on grading setups before entry and keeping prop-firm limits in view. Here is a fair look at both.
Free plan · No card needed · TJ is journaling software, not financial advice.
The short answer
Choose Tradervue if you trade stocks or options, want deep after-the-fact reports such as exit analysis and liquidity reports, and value broker sync and sharing with mentors.
Choose TJ if you trade futures, forex or gold, often on a prop account, and want the discipline to happen before the entry: a graded checklist, a size that follows the grade, and warnings near your daily loss limit. Futures work on TJ's free plan; on Tradervue, futures need a Silver or Gold plan.

Where Tradervue is stronger
- Report depth. Interactive drill-down reports, exit performance, liquidity and max potential P&L analysis on Gold go further than TJ's 30 ready-made reports.
- Stocks and options. Tradervue supports options. TJ journals stocks, but has no tools built for options or multi-leg positions.
- Broker sync. 80+ platform integrations against TJ's CSV import, MetaTrader auto-sync (Pro) and two crypto exchanges.
- Chart types. Renko, volume bar and range bar charts on its trade charts.
Where TJ is different
The grade comes before the click
In Rate It! you pick the strategy you wrote and tick its checks. TJ returns a score out of 100 and a grade from A+ to D. A veto, such as “Asian session” or “no liquidity sweep”, means no trade even when everything else lines up. Weaker grades get a smaller size. The grade is saved with the trade, so Review can later show your R by grade and tell you whether your A+ setups really beat your B setups.
Built for prop accounts
Choose Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures (Rapid and Rapid EOD), Tradeify Select, FTMO, FundedNext Stellar and The5ers High Stakes. TJ fills in the daily loss limit, drawdown, target and consistency rules for your account size and warns you as you approach them, for example “84% of your daily limit used. Stop for today.”
Practice and news in the same app
Backtest with chart replay, saved layouts and indicators, and every backtest trade goes into your journal, kept apart from live results. The economic calendar shows actual, forecast and previous values with news alerts.
Similar price, wider free tier
TJ Silvy is planned at $19 a month, below Tradervue Silver at $29.95. Futures, forex and prop alerts are on TJ's free plan.

Moving your history
The cleanest way in is the original export from your broker or platform. TJ reads MT4/MT5 history, Tradovate and NinjaTrader-style exports, FX Replay exports and most broker CSVs, matches the columns for you and lets you fix any before importing. Add your strategy checklist, and Rate It! starts grading from your next trade.
