A futures trading journal for NQ, ES, MNQ and MES
Index futures move fast and a point is worth real money. TJ knows the dollar value of a point on NQ, ES and their micros, so risk, R and P&L are right from your first trade, and it grades each setup against your own checklist before you enter.

Point values built in
Type the symbol, the size and your prices. TJ does the maths. Symbols with a contract month, such as NQZ6, are matched to the right market.
| Per point | Per tick (0.25) | |
|---|---|---|
| NQ | $20 | $5.00 |
| MNQ | $2 | $0.50 |
| ES | $50 | $12.50 |
| MES | $5 | $1.25 |
Also built in: YM, MYM, RTY, M2K, CL, MCL, GC and MGC. Any other contract works too: add it once with its dollar value per point in Profile, Instruments.
A trade, logged in 20 seconds
One NQ long: entry 24,118.25, stop 24,098.00, target 24,179.00. The stop is 20.25 points away, so the risk is $405. The target is 60.75 points away, so a full win is +$1,215.00, or 3R. In TJ you type the three prices and the size; risk, R and P&L fill themselves.
The same trade on MNQ risks $40.50 per contract. That's why micros are the usual way to keep a fixed dollar risk on a wide stop: at a $250 risk, a 20-point NQ stop doesn't fit one mini contract, but it fits six MNQ contracts with room to spare.
Getting your futures trades in
- CSV import: Tradovate and NinjaTrader-style exports, plus most other broker CSVs. TJ detects the format and matches the columns, and you can fix any column before importing.
- Backtest exports: FX Replay-style replay exports.
- By hand: Log It! on your phone, right after the close.
Built around the futures session
Grade before the open
Write your model as a checklist: higher-timeframe bias, a sweep of a key level, a rejection from a higher-timeframe zone, a lower-timeframe trigger, session timing. Rate It! turns it into a score out of 100 and a grade, and a veto (for example, “no sweep”) means no trade.
Sessions in your time zone
Each trade records its session (Asian, London, the London–New York overlap, New York), with times shown in your own time zone, so Review can show whether your New York morning trades really outperform the rest.
News that moves the indices
The economic calendar shows actual, forecast and previous values for each release, with news alerts, so CPI or a Fed decision doesn't catch you mid-trade.
Prop evaluations
Rules are pre-filled for Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures (Rapid and Rapid EOD) and Tradeify Select, with warnings as you near the daily loss limit and drawdown.
Replay the tape
Backtest NQ or ES with chart replay on history back to each market's first day, with saved layouts and indicators. Backtest trades land in a separate account in your journal.

FAQ
Does TJ connect to Tradovate or NinjaTrader?
Not directly yet. Export your trades from the platform as a CSV and TJ imports Tradovate and NinjaTrader-style files, matching the columns for you. MetaTrader 4/5 auto-sync is available on Silvy and Sapphire.
Can I journal micros and minis in the same account?
Yes. Each trade has its own symbol and size, and TJ uses the right point value for each, so MNQ and NQ trades sit side by side with correct P&L and R.
Does TJ suggest trades?
No. TJ is journaling software, not financial advice. It grades setups only against the checklist you wrote and analyses your own trades.
What does it cost?
The journal is free. Silvy is $19 a month and Sapphire $59 a month, with 30% off the first year for anyone who joins by 5 December 2026.
