TJ vs TradesViz: deep analytics or fewer, sharper screens?

TradesViz is a data-heavy journal: 600+ statistics and visualizations, 70+ auto-sync connections, trading simulators and a long list of AI tools, with paid plans from $14.99 a month billed yearly. TJ is a simpler journal, built around grading setups before you enter and watching prop-firm limits. Both are good; they suit different traders.

Free plan · No card needed · TJ is journaling software, not financial advice.

The short answer

Choose TradesViz if you want the most analytics for the money, auto-sync with many brokers, options tools and a native mobile app.

Choose TJ if more charts haven't changed how you trade, and you want a short loop instead: grade the setup, take the size the grade allows, log it in seconds, and review what your rules are worth. Prop limits for nine programs come pre-filled, and futures and forex are on the free plan.

Where TradesViz is stronger

  • Price. Pro billed yearly works out to about $180 a year, a little above TJ Silvy's planned $159 a year.
  • Depth. 600+ statistics and visualizations is far more than TJ offers. If you enjoy digging through data, TradesViz gives you more to dig through.
  • Auto-sync. 70+ auto-sync connections against TJ's MetaTrader auto-sync (Silvy), two crypto exchanges and CSV import.
  • Options and a native app. Options tools on the higher plans and a mobile app in the App Store and Google Play.

Where TJ is different

The grade comes before the click

In Rate It! you pick the strategy you wrote and tick its checks. TJ returns a score out of 100 and a grade from A+ to D. A veto, such as “Asian session” or “no liquidity sweep”, means no trade even when everything else lines up. Weaker grades get a smaller size. The grade is saved with the trade, so Review can later show your R by grade and tell you whether your A+ setups really beat your B setups.

Named prop programs, ready to go

Choose Topstep, Apex, Take Profit Trader, MyFundedFutures (Rapid and Rapid EOD), Tradeify Select, FTMO, FundedNext Stellar and The5ers High Stakes and your account size; TJ fills in the limits and warns you as you get close. You can edit every value or type rules for any other firm.

Free beyond stocks

TradesViz's free plan covers stocks. TJ's free plan covers futures, forex, gold, crypto and stocks, with unlimited trades and screenshots.

Strategies with real results

The community library shows strategies other traders share, with live results in R calculated by the database from their own closed trades. Nobody can type the numbers in, and small samples are labelled.

TradesViz fits

  • Data-minded traders who want every statistic.
  • Stock and options traders, including on the free plan.
  • Traders who want low-cost auto-sync.

TJ fits

  • Traders who need fewer, clearer numbers and a rule check before entry.
  • Futures and forex prop traders on a budget.
  • Coaches who want read-only access to students' journals.

Running both for a month

A simple test: keep your current journal, and for the next 20 trades also grade each setup in TJ before you enter. Log the trade, then check Review's R by grade. If your A and A+ trades clearly beat the rest, you have learned which rules to keep, whichever journal you settle on.
