Profit targets, max loss, trailing vs end-of-day drawdown, daily loss limits, consistency rules and contract caps for the main futures prop firms, on one page.

The short versionA 50K evaluation is almost always a $3,000 target with a $2,000 max loss. What really separates firms is how the drawdown trails (end-of-day or intraday), whether there's a daily limit, and the consistency rule, which ranges from none to 55%.

Soft daily limit = you're flattened and paused until the next session; the account stays alive. Rules differ between evaluation and funded stages.

The five rules that end most accounts

  1. Trailing drawdown. Your floor follows your best balance up and never comes down, until it locks (usually at your starting balance or +$100).
  2. Intraday vs end-of-day. Intraday trailing counts open profit in real time; end-of-day only moves on the close. Both are usually enforced the moment you touch them.
  3. Daily loss limit. Usually a pause, not a fail. Your real room today is whichever limit is closer.
  4. Consistency. One huge day can delay a pass: best day ÷ consistency % = the total profit you need.
  5. Close time. None of these firms allow overnight holds in the evaluation. Know your firm's flat-by time.

Questions

Which futures prop firms use end-of-day drawdown?

In the evaluations covered here, Topstep, Tradeify SELECT, MyFundedFutures Rapid, LucidFlex and Take Profit Trader use an end-of-day trailing drawdown, and Apex offers both an end-of-day and an intraday version. Funded accounts sometimes switch type, so check both stages.

Is a daily loss limit a breach?

At most futures firms that have one, no. Hitting the daily loss limit flattens your positions and pauses trading until the next session. Hitting the max loss or trailing drawdown is what ends the account.

What does a 50% consistency rule mean?

Your single best day can't be more than half of the profit that counts toward passing. With a $3,000 target, a $2,000 day means you need at least $4,000 in total profit. The drawdown calculator checks it for you.

Can I hold futures positions overnight in a prop evaluation?

Not at any of the firms on this page. Each has a daily close time, from 3:10 PM CT at Topstep to 4:45 PM ET at Tradeify and Lucid.

How current is this cheat sheet?

Every number comes from the firms' official help pages, and each firm shows the date we last checked it. Firms change rules often, so treat this as a map and confirm on your firm's site before you buy or trade.
